Introduction

TITAN is a cloud-based pharmacy operating system, accredited by NHS for processing EPS prescriptions. Our system is built on Windows and uses AWS for data hosting. The Core application used by pharmacies manages all aspects of the dispensing process from clinical checking, labelling, packaging and claims. Titan has been constructed with the ability to provide an Application Programming Interface (API) platform, enabling rich integrations with third party systems. Our business objective is to make it easy for third party systems suppliers to integrate with Titan, ensuring pharmacy end users can seamlessly extend their business processes and connect with other applications.

About the Programme

The Titan Marketplace Integration Programme allows System Suppliers to develop their integration with Titan using APIs and deploy their product onto Titan’s Marketplace for download by Titan users. The purpose of this Programme is as follows;

  1. To assess the IT capability and security profile of the System Supplier

  2. To assess the feasibility of the integration aligns with Titan’s workflow and API set availability

  3. To support the System Supplier through the necessary integration with testing

  4. To release the completed App in the Titan Marketplace and make available to users

  5. To establish a commercial model which is clear and fair to all sides

Type of integrations

  • Interface with Titan APIs - We offer a range of Standard API sets to allow different types of Integration which enables your product to interface with Titan at the right point. API events are triggered throughout the dispensing process including clinical checks, labelling, packaging and handout, and these can be used to create seamless workflows with your product. For further information about the Titan workflow and API sets, please contact our Integrations team.

  • Interface with your APIs - If you have open APIs available, we may consider developing the necessary interfaces with your product. As part of our development, we will select the appropriate trigger event to initiate the connection within the Titan workflow. We will also seek to maximise the potential capabilities within your system.

Integration Process

Our integration process with your product will follow this journey;

  1. NDA - We will provide a mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement for both parties to allow information to be shared. This agreement will be sent electronically for authorised personnel to sign. In advance, please provide your full company name and registered company number.

  2. Business & Security - We will provide you with a questionnaire which requests outline information in relation to your business, the proposition and aims to ascertain any security risks that may be introduced as a result of the proposal. We ask you to complete all the information as accurately as possible and clearly set out the scope of their system and the purpose of integration. We will assess each Business Case on its merits and the information you have provided in the questionnaire. We will evaluate any risk, potential costs of works and then confirm the integration is compatible, viable, possible and within the scope of the product’s purpose. Under the terms of Titan’s ISO 27001 and NHS Digital Electronic Prescription Service, strict criteria to maintain the integrity of these standards will be assessed.

  3. Discovery & Discussion - We will enter into discussions with you regarding the integration and agree how the integration will work in principle. This will help identify us understand the timescales for development and potential costs. During these discussions we will also scope out the commercial arrangements between the parties and your marketing plans for the product.

  4. Agreement - Once we have agreed in principle that the integration is technically and commercially viable, we will issue you with our Titan Marketplace Agreement. This will clearly define the obligations of each party, including confidentiality provisions, data sharing, agreed commercial arrangement and an SLA for ongoing service levels.

  5. Development - Once Agreements are signed, we will provide access to our APIs if you are using Titan events. If we are developing the integration with your APIs, we will carry out the necessary development in discussion with you.

  6. Approval - We will test the final solution to ensure integrity and safety. The final sign off will be issued by Titan’s CTO and you will be notified in writing. At this point we will also require product imagery so we can display your product on the Titan Marketplace. Upon Sign Off, your solution will be presented on Titan Marketplace. The Customer, as the Data Controller, will be able to authorise Security Keys and enable their data to be sent to the new solution created.

Marketing and Promotion

Having your integration available on Titan Marketplace is a great way to raise awareness of your product and improve how pharmacies engage with your product. The rich APIs and workflows within Titan will help ensure the integration is easy to install by customers and there is good flow of data between systems.

Part of our agreement with you will include a commitment to joint marketing initiatives to help drive sales of both our products to our respective user bases.

Integration Fees and Costs

We are committed to promoting wide adoption onto Titan’s marketplace and wish to see many System Suppliers’ products available for use by pharmacy end users. At the same time we need to ensure that we cover our costs in developing and maintaining any integrations that are deployed on our system. Accordingly, our costs are intended to be kept simple, affordable and commercially viable for suppliers, customers and Titan. Our commercial proposition will be based on our initial and ongoing workload but we will also take into account any commercial opportunity that an integration with your product could bring.

Typically, our fees consist of the following elements;

  • Initial Fee – covers the costs of establishing the initial set up, providing access to sandbox and documentation, and any development work that may be carried out by the us.

  • Marketplace Registration Fee - covers the costs of final testing and compliance with information security and NHS protocols, payable after the solution has been developed.

  • App Licence Fee - Once your application is deployed onto the Titan Marketplace it will be available for end users to download onto their client environment. Our App Licence Fee seeks to cover our costs for maintaining and supporting your integration with our end users. We will discuss a range of options with you, including;

    1. Fixed annual fee to your company, or

    2. Fixed site fee charged to your company, or

    3. Variable Transaction Fee charged to your company, or

    4. In the event that we are unable to agree an ongoing fee structure with you for your integration, we reserve the right to charge the end user a fee for accessing the integration.

We will discuss all our fees with you as part of your application and provide you with a proposal at the outset so you are clear about all costs.

Timeline

After reviewing your application, and as part of our proposal, we will let you know what timeline you can expect for your integration.
